he brass pan hanging from the wall is a bed-warmer.  You fill it with hot coals, heat it in the fireplace, then let it sit under the bedclothes for a while.  It makes the bed very warm on a cold winter night.  I am currenly working on making a new patchwork quilt for it, and the pillow is real goose down.   Currently, however, these things have been put away for the season, and we welcome glorious spring.  So should you.

his is, of course, the best guest bedroom.
As you can well imagine, I am very happy with it.  I have a little hand-painted wardrobe where you can hang up your clothes, and the statues on top are depictions of some of the famous people from our history -- all Elves, of course.  There are, however, pictures of famous Hobbits painted on the bed boards.  That is a scene from the well-known journey of Frodo and Samwise painted on the foot of the bed.
After you've unpacked and rested, be sure to come down to the dining room.  We have set the tables up for all our visitors, and there's a nice log crackling on the fire.  Just bring yourself and a big appetite, and that mug below, which we got from The Green Dragon Inn over in Bywater.
